Independent Laboratory Test
IMANNA Laboratory was chosen for testing the Enviro-Fill O.P.S. because of Bob White’s close working relationship with ABYC and his extensive experience at testing a wide range of products and systems for the marine industry.
Long Term Testing
Rock Solid – 2004 Lookout, 25' center console, Mercury Optimax 225, 120 gallon fuel tank, Smartcraft gauges
Skippered by USCG licensed captain Aaron Kelly, Rock Solid is a charter fishing boat out of Oregon Inlet Fishing Center on NC’s Outer Banks. Rock solid was chosen as a test vessel because Aaron’s record of catching a lot of fish has him fishing and refueling more than three hundred days a year. This enables testing our O.P.S. the equivalent of five years of normal refueling in a few months. Aaron has been using the system since the first of the year and has not spilled one drop of fuel. Rock Solid is equipped with Smartcraft gauges and they have repeatedly shown fuel consumed to be within .1 of a gallon compared to the meter on the pump when the O.P.S shuts off the nozzle.
As most of you are aware, fishing offshore in a 25 ft. center console can be a very wet experience. This constant exposure to salt water and daily wash downs allow us to evaluate the components durability in the most extreme conditions likely to be encountered on any pleasure boat.
